Haworth Cat Rescue has launched an appeal to build a new and environmentally friendly Cat Rehoming Centre in the Aire Valley to meet the pressing needs of the wide community we serve.

Our current appeal

Every year we help hundreds of unwanted, abandoned and surrendered cats find loving new homes.  In doing so, we reach out to people of all ages and from all walks of life who need our help too.

West Yorkshire is poorly served and the county has a disturbing track-record for animal welfare based on cruelty convictions, ranking second in England and Wales.  Bradford - our postcode - is cited as one of the worst cities.

As well as providing more than 100 rescue pens, the new Centre will enable us to run educational programmes for children instilling an understanding and appreciation of animals and their needs.  At our Centre they will discover what it means to be a responsible pet owner through learning about cat care first-hand.  The fully integrated eco concept for the new building will also provide fresh opportunities for learning, and help ensure the future well-being and sustainability of the environment we all share.

To succeed we need your help

The first step towards our new Centre will be the purchase of a suitable site.  This needs to meet such criteria as accessibility, drainage, planning permission, land contamination, size.  Suitable sites are on the market from between £500,000 to £950,000.
